| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Yarniaks podcast. |
| 0:11.7 | This is episode number 318, which we are recording on Thursday, March 21st, 2024. |
| 0:18.7 | I'm Gail. |
| 0:19.5 | And I'm Charlene. |
| 0:20.6 | We've had like five takes trying to get this started, |
| 0:23.9 | so we're just going to go. Charlene, what do you wear? I have been wearing my calic sweater. |
| 0:31.1 | It is a pullover or jumper by Elizabeth Doherty. I made mine back in March of 2018, I believe right after the pattern came out, |
| 0:42.5 | I believe the pattern came out earlier that year, and I made mine with one strand of the |
| 0:49.4 | holst yarn coast and one strand of the holst yarn tides. So one strand of each of those held together. |
| 0:58.0 | The coast is a wool cotton and the tides is a wool silk. And the combination of the two remains one of my favorite yarn combos to this day because I just love the weight of that sweater |
| 1:16.7 | and I wear it all the time when it's appropriate for the weather. The calyx pullover has a lace pattern on the front of the sweater and then up on the shoulder |
| 1:31.6 | that continues down the sleeve and it's modified drop shoulder. |
| 1:37.2 | Modified meaning so that you don't feel like there's tons of extra fabric under the yarn. |
| 1:41.7 | It's really nice. |
| 1:43.0 | And like I said, it's remained one of my favorite |
| 1:46.0 | sweaters to this day, both for the pattern and the yarns that I used. Calix. Yeah. And that's spelled |
| 1:54.2 | C-A-L-Y-X by Elizabeth Doherty. What are you wearing, Gail? Well, I have been wearing the last two days my |
| 2:02.0 | solosta pullover, which is a sweater pattern by Kindred Red, and it's a very unique sweater. |
| 2:09.9 | It's knit entirely in mohair, yet you hold doubled little scraps of yarn randomly |
| 2:17.1 | throughout the sweater. |
| 2:18.3 | So at the top, it's a top-down circular yolk. |
| 2:21.1 | You hold little scraps more often at the top. |
