Hello and welcome to the Yarniaks podcast.

0:11.4

This is episode number 315, which we are recording on Wednesday, February 7th,

0:17.4

2024. I'm Gail. And I'm Charlene. And we are recording remotely today for the first time

0:25.3

since the COVID lockdowns. So this is going to be interesting. Hopefully it is a raging success.

0:31.7

Hopefully it's a success and hopefully I've done it properly. Yes, we were laughing at ourselves because it's crazy how quickly we forgot how to do remote recordings.

0:44.6

Yes, we really have.

0:48.2

All right, so what are you wearing?

0:51.1

Well, though I'm not wearing it right now, what I pulled out this week from the sweater

0:57.2

bags was my confetti. Confetti is a pullover sweater written by Vera Vallimaki, and I have made

1:08.6

two of these sweaters, and I wore my faded version of this garment that I made in

1:15.3

2017. The pattern is from March of 2017 and I guess I know we both really liked it a lot because

1:24.5

apparently I made two right away in 2017.

1:28.7

So did I.

1:29.5

Yep.

1:30.2

Confetti is a basic raglan with a line shaping.

1:35.3

And I would call this one a bit of extreme a line shaping because it really, really adds

1:42.7

a lot of stitches from under the bust all the way down

1:47.9

to the hem of the sweater. It adds, I want to say, as written, it probably adds stitches every four

1:56.1

rows or something dramatic, yeah. Something very dramatic, so it's extremely's extremely a line and when i did my versions

2:04.3

i did not add quite as many increases as were written into the original pattern but i do like

2:12.1

that a line shaping of it so this one was a big win for me. I really liked it and still wearing. It's also a simple

2:20.0

sweater. So for people who are looking for a first time sweater, it's a pretty good option, I think.
