Hello and welcome to the Yarniaks podcast. This is episode number 248, which we are recording on Wednesday, June 30th, 2021. I'm Gail. And I'm Charlene. And it's the last day of June. Officially the year is

0:25.3

half over. Crazy. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Wow. Okay. What are you wearing this last day of the first

0:33.0

half of 2021? Well, I have been wearing my Ellery sweater by Elizabeth Doherty. This is a pattern that I have

0:43.1

knit twice, both last year during, well, one of them I knit before the start of the pandemic. One of them I knit

0:53.8

right at the beginning of the pandemic, one of them I knit right at the beginning of lockdown,

0:59.0

because I liked this sweater so much. And also for the second one, I had gotten yarn at stitches for a second one,

1:10.0

and I got to work on it right away. But the first one that I

1:14.5

have been wearing, I've been wearing it because I made it out of cotton and it's been chilly

1:20.5

in the mornings. It's been foggy and I decided that it was perfect weather for a cotton sweater.

1:28.5

Ellery is a single color circular yoke pullover with slip stitch textures.

1:39.0

And I love the way it fits.

1:41.2

I love the textural knitting on the yoke. I used two strands of

1:48.5

fingering white yarn to equal the needed gauge for the sweater, which, let's see, it was

1:56.6

18 stitches to four inches. So two strands of my fingering worked just fine for that. And I really have

2:08.3

enjoyed wearing it this past week. So that is Ellery by Elizabeth Doherty. What are you wearing,

2:16.1

Gail? Well, I still am not wearing too many handnets because of little puppy teeth.

2:21.1

And he's not really biting so much anymore, but his claws are so sharp.

2:26.4

Oh, my gosh, you would think he was a cat.

2:29.7

So instead of wearing handnets, I'm wearing my favorite sweatshirt of all time, which is my

2:35.6

neighborhood fiber company Ball So Hard sweatshirt, which the zipper is broken.

2:41.5

It doesn't zip up anymore.

2:43.0

Oh, really?
