Summary

When we recorded this episode I had a cold, and somehow imagined my voice to be much more froggy than in reality it sounds. I'm glad, though my overall stuffiness probably caused me to participate less than usual. Fortunately, we are joined by Monika from CompassioKnitfor the final segment of the show. We talk about knitting for charities, and about Monika's CompassionKnit charity located in San Francisco. If you are looking for a way to give to charity for the holidays or at any time of year, knitting for charities is a great option. Monika's CompassionKnit Ravelry group can be found here.

Yay. Oh, my goodness. Getting close to the end of the year.

0:31.3

Yeah, very close. Kind of remarkable. So what are you wearing today? Well, I was just telling Gail, it's obviously she can see what I'm wearing, but it is my Gather Together by Hoheilo-Katelli.

0:38.6

And what I was telling her is that I believe this is one of the sweaters that I did not wear

0:46.6

very often last year.

0:48.9

And here it is only the beginning of December, and it's already the second time that I've taken it out of

0:55.8

mothballs so to speak I don't use mothballs but taking it out of storage and worn it again so

1:02.9

yay it's a very nice sweater gather together is a tunic length.

1:17.8

I wear it almost as a pullover because I don't even unbutton it, but it is designed as a cardigan, a tunic length, a line cardigan, and it has a cabled yoke.

1:24.1

So it's almost like a circular yoke in the fact that all the increases, because it's

1:31.4

knit top down, so all the increases for the fronts and the backs and the sleeves are incorporated

1:38.6

into the cabling pattern around the yoke. It's very nice. It was fun to knit.

1:44.4

Yes.

1:45.0

I use mine like a coat.

1:47.3

Yes.

1:47.4

Heavier and stiffer.

1:51.4

So I wouldn't work more as a pullover for me.

1:54.5

Oh, yeah.
