One of the biggest mistakes we can make, even with the best of intentions, is to trust

in our own wisdom rather than in God's power.

We seek to carry out Christ's mission in the Church without looking to the Word of God

and relying on the Spirit of God.

In this message from 1 Corinthians 2 verses 1 through 5, Dave Platte urges us to treat

God's Word as if our lives and the lives of others depend on it.

As JD mentioned last night, we're walking through this book of the Bible over the

course the next couple of days.

Part of the reason for that is to show that mission, as we've already heard this morning,

is not just about a select passage here or there and this or that book, but it's a part

of the fabric of the Bible.

We want to connect the gospel and the church and holiness and sexuality and singleness

and marriage and all sorts of other themes and 1 Corinthians to the life that counts

for the glory of God among all the nations.
