Hello and welcome to Story Time for Grownups. I'm Faith Moore, and this season we're reading

The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. Each episode, I'll read a few chapters from the book,

pausing from time to time to give brief explanations, so it's easier to follow along. It's like an

audiobook with built-in notes.

And reading this book is such a joy. It's so much fun. And I don't know about you, but I love being with Marion.

I really like Marion as a character and I'm't know about you, but I love being with Marion. I really like Marian as a character

and I'm finding it very nice to be here with you in Marion's diary, right? So that's exciting. We're

going to talk about that in a little bit. Before we do, I have a quick announcement, which is

that after this episode, I'm going to be going away. I'm going on vacation with my family.

We're going to see some extended family that we haven't seen in a while, but that doesn't

mean that I'm going to pause this show or anything like that. Don't worry. I'm pre-recording

episodes now that I'm going to put out so there won't be any break in the episodes,

but it does mean that there won't be questions. I will still talk at the beginning of each

episode. I will do a little conversation that I'm having, I guess, with myself, about what we've read.

I'll talk about some of the things that are coming up and some of the character developments

that happen. So I will still do that, but I won't be reading questions for three episodes

after this one, and in those episodes, I will remind you that those episodes are pre-recorded

and that I'm away, and I will let you know when I am coming back. So February 27th is going to be

the first episode where I am back.
