I welcome back to the personality hacker podcast my name is Joe Mark Witt and I'm

Antonio Dodge so this week on the show we're going to continue a conversation we

0:10.8

started last week we're going to go deeper into the topic we started last week. We're going to go deeper into the topic. We started

0:16.0

drawing some distinction on the last episode, Antonia, about when somebody sees behavior in the wild, the world and they go oh okay and they start to map that to personality types and maybe even a layer deeper

0:30.1

the cognitive functions behind personality types that drive our behaviors right that how we learn and how we make decisions there's a whole bunch of stuff under there

0:38.6

But basically when you see behavior like oh that must be how that works. I'm going to connect that behavior to maybe a

0:44.4

cognitive function and then when I see that cognitive function in somebody I'm

0:47.6

gonna assume that that behavior is connected to it at all times yeah

0:50.4

when I don't see that behavior from somebody I'm going to ignore and say well they're probably not that personality type because everybody that personality type has behavior XYZ.

1:31.0

out. A person is very different. There's a whole system running that's the person, their age, their station of life, their maturity, experience, interests, like all this stuff. It doesn't necessarily mean all the behaviors you see are tied to functions.

1:44.0

So we draw that, drew that distinction.

1:47.0

And I actually forget the second thing we left people with.

1:49.0

What was the second thing?

1:51.0

Oh, well, I mean, if we're going to segue into this particular episode that there is a difference

1:56.3

between using a function and tapping into its wisdom.

2:01.0

That's right, that was the second thing we left people with at the
