Summary

Episode 123

In this podcast, New York Times bestselling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all.

The astrology of the week of April 24th, 2023, gives us a moment to ourselves. On Monday, the Sun conjoins the North Node, revealing potent information about our appetites and desires. On Tuesday, the Sun sextiles Saturn (the planet of boundaries), allowing us to identify what’s not functioning and make any necessary adjustments. On Saturday, Mars (the planet of action) sextiles Uranus (the planet of change), inspiring innovative acts of care for ourselves and others. Since there’s not a ton going on, we can use this week to take a beat, reflect on what happened last week, and prepare for what’s coming next.

Hello and welcome. This is the Astrology of the Week Ahead podcast and I am your host,

0:06.2

Channy Nicholas. This episode is going to be really short because there's not a ton that's

0:12.5

happening this week, which is actually really lovely. Last week we had the first North Node

0:20.2

eclipse in Ares for a really long time. It opened up a whole

0:25.8

new chapter, a whole new story. And next week we have the very last eclipse that we're going to

0:33.2

have in Scorpio near the South Node for a couple of decades. So we're ending a big chapter next week.

0:41.9

So this week actually gives us a kind of astrological recess, if you will, because there's just

0:49.2

not a ton going on, which is lovely because we can reflect on what happened last week and we can prepare

0:57.3

for what happens next week. We can be in this kind of liminal in between space and have a moment

1:06.0

to ourselves without any kind of major event happening.

1:17.5

In this podcast, we look at the astrology of the upcoming week and how it will be landing for all of us collectively.

1:19.8

For a more personalized reading that dives into the ways that this week's astrology will

1:24.6

play out for you, download the Chani app for iPhone.

1:33.9

So the actual astrology of this week goes like this. On Monday the 24th, the sun and the North

1:42.3

node make a conjunction. Now, the North node is just a point in space. It's not an actual physical body. But it's treated with a lot of reverence in astrology. So modern astrologers, modern Western astrologers, that is, think of the North Node as the place where we're going. Traditionally, this wasn't the

2:02.9

conceptual understanding of the North Node. Traditionally, the North Node is a place of

2:08.1

hunger and of reaching and of wanting to consume. And this is because the North and South

2:16.0

node are places where eclipses happen, right? So if a new moon or

2:19.7

full moon happens around a north node or south node, there's going to be an eclipse. So eclipses

2:28.2

were thought of as kind of dangerous times because the light of the sun or the moon goes out, gets eclipsed.

2:37.3

And so the ancients thought that there was this dragon in the sky that would consume the sun

2:43.9

or consume the moon during an eclipse. And the north node is the hungry head of the dragon. It is the part of us or part of life
