Speaker Bio:

Sister Anna Wray is a native of Connecticut and a member of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia. Sister received her phD in philosophy from The Catholic University of America, having written her dissertation on Aristotle’s account of the activity of contemplation. Sister is on faculty in CUA's School of Philosophy.

So, like it or not, I am type A.

And no one has ever explained to me exactly what it means to be type A, but I take it to mean that I have an overdeveloped preference for order and perhaps even like a bloated desire for control.

So this means that when I'm in a car with someone who is driving erratically, I get motion sick.

And I found that the way to prevent this is to try to figure out where they're going.

So if I can know where they're going, then the motion sickness will at least be a little

In my experience, it is far easier to act prudently if you know what acting prudently means.

Also, it's easier to grasp what acting prudently means if you know why acting prudently matters. So the map of my

presentation is going to follow those three question words. Why, what, and then how. First, I'll look at why we should care about the virtue of prudence at all,
