0:00.0	October Perez had no choice but to trust the adults around her with her life.
0:05.0	She was only two years old and needed those adults to care for her.
0:09.0	In June of 2011, that trust would be broken when one of those adults took our life.

0:43.7	Perez was born on January 10th, 2009 to Christie Perez, who was married to a man
0:49.2	named Freddie Perez, but Freddie would soon find out that he was not the father.
0:54.0	Christie tried to cover up the fact that she had cheated on her husband,
0:57.5	but soon enough a paternity test would prove that a man named Michael Arndt was actually October's father. After that, Christy and Freddie separated, though never divorced, and at some point she began dating a man named David Wayne Heislop. April Hall, Michael's mother, would later go on record describing the condition of her granddaughter after Christie started having a relationship with David.
1:21.0	Michael was in the military and April would use his visitation with
1:25.1	October while he was deployed. She noticed that the toddler was in pain
1:29.3	and when she took her to the hospital X-rays showed that she had a broken arm.
1:34.0	Now by that point, April had already contacted child and family services once, but while
1:39.1	Christie was distracted, she told someone at the hospital to contact them again.
1:44.0	The doctor backed that up because he was suspicious that Christie couldn't give any explanation on how the little girl had broken her arm.
1:51.0	Rachel Zins became the social worker on the case and the following day she
1:56.0	claimed that she had met with the county attorney and that there wasn't enough evidence to take October
2:01.0	out of her home. Later, the county attorney would claim that he had never met with Rachel's inns.
2:07.0	April would later say that Rachel seemed completely unconcerned with the situation,
2:12.0	but that would soon be proven to be a huge mistake.
2:15.6	On June 23rd, 2011, David was looking after October.
2:20.8	Christie said that she was out of the house attending a class to become an EMT, leaving David to take care of her daughter.
2:27.0	Two other adults lived in the house on 4th Avenue South in Great Falls, Montana.
