Summary

As I look to the needs of children of today, I am convinced they need the same things from their mothers that I needed—and received—from mine. They need not only the gentle touch of a mother's hands, but her focus and her attention on a daily basis. They need a champion and a cheerleader, someone who has the time and energy to give encouragement along life's way and comfort in dark times. They need a directive voice to show them how to live.

Hi everyone, welcome to Add Home with Sally. I'm Sally Clarkson and I have the biggest

0:13.0

privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

0:18.6

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement and I am just so glad

Hello my friends, welcome to Add Home with Sally and I am just so glad that you're with me today.

This is a podcast that I hope whenever you come you'll feel encouraged, inspired, uplifted,

0:51.8

helped when you come here and I pray that you will know that I have compassion and mercy for

1:00.5

you because God has had so much compassion and mercy for me. But I also hope that it will be a

1:06.2

place where you hear truth. Jesus came and said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. And I

1:15.4

think that to be told the truth about something, to have the comfort of the stability, to know what is

1:23.1

right and what is wrong, what is true, what is not true is so very important. And so I hope that

1:28.9

you'll find that here. I really seek in my own life and have most of my life to really look at

1:35.8

Scripture and to study Christ and to ponder Him and I think, what is He like? And I became a believer

1:43.2

when I was in college and it was the first time in my life where I felt like I knew two things. One

1:49.0

is that I was unconditionally loved. I always wanted to be loved with somebody by someone who knew me

1:56.2

and still loved me. And then the other thing was a long for purpose. And of course, I keep hinting at

2:02.9

this, but I can't say anything about it yet because it's not time. But I did write a lot about this

2:08.6

in my new book, coming out, Awaking Wonder, that we are not given to our children to indoctrinate them

2:16.8

or to give them some kind of a false promising list of morality, reductive morality. But we are coming

2:28.1

to our homes and in a relationship with our children to give them truth and life. And so I hope

2:35.5

you'll find that here today. And the reason I'm saying that is that I, some of my friends, have been

2:41.6

interacting with me today about some crazy things that are on the internet and how easily deceived
