I just came back from a trip to Bosnia.

This was my first trip to Bosnia.

It's been long overdue.

And to be honest, even though I thought I knew a good amount of detail about Bosnia,

subhanna-ah, the trip really was an eye-opener for me.

And one day, in-shall one day, in the new future,

I'll talk about the lessons I learned from that trip. I met many of the survivors of the massacre in Srebrenica as well. I met some of the imam, some of the leaders of the resistance movement.

But one name that continued to keep on coming up,

and that name will form our lecture for today, was somebody that was greatly admired by every

single person that I met. And that was the former president of Bosnia, and that is Alia Ali

Izzyzibyovic. And this is a name that I believe we should all be more familiar with.

The hero, the legend, the philosopher, warrior king.

I was thinking, is there anybody in the last hundred years that is of a similar caliber.

And I could not think of anybody in the last hundred years.

Yes, before that, yes.

But in our generation, post-World War II, I cannot think of any person that comes close

to a genuine leader and commander in multiple disciplines who garnered so much respect amongst the umma and amongst

his people and left such a deep legacy everybody was in awe of him and one or two people even

teared up when they mentioned his name to me and that really is a sign of respect and

iqlas and kabil amongst the hearts and his book he has a sign of respect and iqlas and Kabul amongst the hearts.

And his book, he has a number of books, his book, Islam Between East and West.
