These weren't like the 2016 trolls that people picture

where it's like a Pepe the Frog avatar

who's just saying kind of nonsensical

incomprehensible statements just to disrupt conversation.

These were real people who kind of didn't care

that anybody could see they were posting these things.

So when I reached out to them,

honestly, a lot of them were sort of

of the attitude of like kind of not really even understanding

what I was curious about because they were like, yeah,

that's what I posted that made sense to say, you know,

and some of them were willing to get into it a little bit more

and kind of examine why they would find themselves

being part of the pile on, you know,

hashing out what caused a stranger's death.

And I think some of them were able to be somewhat

introspective about it, but on the whole,

the reaction was, I don't understand what you even find.

Interesting about this, this was like a very normal thing

to say.
