Welcome to the Tudor Dixon podcast. We are a week into the United Auto Worker Strike and many

0:14.9

folks are wondering what exactly that means for industry in this country. And some probably

0:20.4

haven't even realized how damaging it could be, but one guy who keeps up on everything automotive

0:25.4

is Henry Payne. Henry is a 30-year newspaper veteran and current auto columnist and critic

0:31.7

for the Detroit news. He is also the host of 910 AM Detroit Radio's CAR radio program

0:38.4

and a Pulitzer Prize nominated cartoonist. Let's talk everything automotive. Welcome,

1:35.0

This is historic. Never happened before in the 80-year history of UAW Detroit three relations.

1:41.6

So I think it's very serious. Those plants are major volume plants, major profit producers

1:49.6

for all three automakers. So the Fort Bronco plant here in Michigan, the Cheap Toledo plant,

1:55.8

huge plant in Ohio and the truck assembly for GM and Missouri. So these are massive plants,

2:03.5

big profit centers. The ripple effects are already being felt across the country because
