because we want to celebrate the lives of the people who gave everything so that we can

have this beautiful and amazing country.

And we brought someone in who knows a lot about those people

and has memories of some of those people in his own life because he is a 21-year veteran

in Army Special Forces operations with over 17 deployments in combat to Iraq, Afghanistan,

Somalia, Colombia, Honduras, Panama, Japan, so many more places.

But Mark Stevens, thank you so much for joining us. You are now the chairman of the board of

Task Force Dagger. It's a nonprofit that supports the wounded, ill, and injured U.S. Special

Operations Command Service members and their families.

Thank you so much for talking about Memorial Day with us.

Thank you for having me and the opportunity to share some of those experiences

and talk a little bit about what we do for the people we're getting ready to talk a little bit about.

Yeah, we talk about Memorial Day with our kids, and I think so many people

that are, that love this country, whether, no matter what side of the aisle you're on, wants to make

sure that our children understand that this is a day to, we're not just having a barbecue. We are

honoring the people who gave their lives so that we can have that barbecue so that we are free. And I think right now the world feels like a very chaotic place. We're looking at things that are happening in Iran. We still have the Ukraine war going on. Obviously, Israel and everything that's happening now today, we can add Cuba to that list as well.

We're watching all of this.

And I'm just asking from your perspective as someone who's been on some of these special operations, what would you tell children today is the importance of this day?
