Summary

Bonnie Hammer spent decades running the most high-pressure, male-dominated rooms in entertainment as the former Vice Chair of NBCUniversal — launching hits like SuitsMr. Robot, and The Sinner along the way. Now, she’s telling the truth about the “empowering” career advice that’s actually holding women back.

In this conversation, we dive into her new book 15 Lies Women Are Told at Work…and the Truth We Need to Succeed, breaking down why “just work hard,” “your work speaks for itself,” and “know your worth” can keep women small, silent, and stuck. Bonnie shares how to lead without hardening, the underestimated traits that make women incredible leaders, and what success looks like when you finally choose yourself.

It’s an honest, career-meets-self-worth conversation about ambition, boundaries, and redefining power on your own terms.
