Hi, Roberta. Thank you for having me. How are you? Thank you so much for agreeing to this

interview. So we're talking about the Rodney Reed case, which is getting a lot of attention.

Why is Rodney Reed on death row and when is his execution date?

Rodney Reed is on death row in Texas for the capital murder of a young woman by the name of

Stacey Stites. She was a 19-year-old high school graduate, originally from Corpus Christi, graduated from

Smithville High School.

She worked at the Bastrop H.E.B. store.

She had been there since around October of 1995.

She'd also recently started working in their produce department as a supervisor to earn an extra 50 cents per hour to pay for her wedding to a Giddings police officer named Jimmy Finnell.

She was paying off her dress and her mom didn't have a lot of money, so she and Jimmy were paying for their wedding.

He's currently scheduled for execution on November 20th, 2019.

He's exhausted all of his appeals, federal, and state post-conviction, and he has filed additional

claims in federal district court, and I believe going to be filing a new writ in

state court and he has a claim at the United States Supreme Court and at least one of those
