Hello friends and welcome to sleep Tight Stories. Red and the girls are hiding by the big tree and getting tired of waiting when they see movement.

They squint through the dim light and try to make out who it is.

They cannot see clearly and decide to get a bit closer

when they notice something familiar about the movements of the figure.

Alexa thinks she knows who it is, and they move even closer

when Red lets out a big sneeze and someone calls out to them.

The Transfer Student Part 25.

Red squinted through the dim light, trying to make out the shadowy figure near the swings. Her vision was far better than that of the other

kids, sharper, more attuned to details that most would miss. She could see in low light almost as easily as she

could in daylight and yet here she was struggling to make out who or what was moving around the playground.

Why is it so difficult to focus right now?

It wasn't her eyes, she knew that.

Red's eyes, though shaped like humans eyes, were different.

The whites of her eyes weren't white at all, but a very faint sky blue color that made them

stand out if anyone ever looked closely enough.

Thankfully, no one ever did.

Her irises were almost black, and her pupils glimmered gold,

though she had learned to squint or blink in just the right way to make them

appear more ordinary when she was around other people. It was a trick she had practiced since arriving on Earth. Her eyes were designed to see the temperature of light as clearly as Earthlings saw colors, something she had to ignore most of the time.

From a distance, Red looked like any other girl, at least as far as most people were concerned.

She had two arms and two legs and stood upright, just like the other kids at school.

Her face had the same basic features, a nose, a mouth, and two ears in the right places.
