Today's story is from Scotland and it's all about a real fairy.

He's a bit of a grumpy fairy as you're here and I'm very pleased to be able to tell you that this tale will be told by the gifted storyteller Amy Douglas.

What would you say if you were sitting under a tree or on a grassy bank and suddenly you met a fairy just like that?

Boom! Well that's what happens in this story.

What would you say to the fairy? Why don't you have a little think about that? Well we have a quick word with the grownups.

I'm told fairies can be really quite tricky so it's best to be very polite.

And it's not a good idea to give a fairy your name. It might give the magical powers over you.

A tramp is someone who walks from one town or village to another looking for work or food and who sleeps in the outdoors,

Duncan was a Scottish traveler and he knew thousands of stories and he passed a lot of those stories on to me.
