Lawrenceville, Georgia.

60-year-old Eva Kay Wendell is found murdered inside her home.

A witness provides a description of a suspicious man seen in the neighborhood around that time

period.

A newspaper soon receives an angry anonymous letter from someone who confesses to kill

in Kay because she wouldn't leave her husband.

Two years later, after Kay's husband passes away, his family goes through his belongings

and finds photographs of a man resembling the suspect in Kay's murder.

However, no one associated with the Wendell's has any idea who this guy is.

After that, the trail went cold.

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest mini-sode of the trail went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder and today I'm going to be looking at a mystery which has

taken place within the last decade.

As you've probably noticed, the majority of the cold cases I've covered on this podcast

are a couple decades old and the most recent of these cases took place in 2003.

There's no particular reason for this.

It's just kind of the way things have happened.

I figured I should finally do a mystery from more recent years since there's a better

chance of it being solved.

So on this mini-sode, I will be covering the 2008 murder of a woman named Eva Kay Wendell.
