After leaving her school on her lunch break, 12-year-old Lynette Culver vanishes without

a trace and is subsequently reported missing.

Nearly 14 years later, prior to his execution, serial killer Ted Bundy confesses to being

responsible for Lynette's murder.

While many people believe Bundy's confession, Lynette's body is never found, and in the years

following her disappearance, four other girls from Pocatello lined up becoming the victims

of unsolved murders.

For that, the trail weighed cold.

I'm your host Robin Warner, and today we'll be exploring a missing persons case involving

a preteen girl, the 1975 disappearance of 12-year-old Lynette Culver.

This case was originally requested to me last year by a listener named Kimberly, but there's

a reason I've decided to cover it right now.

That story wound up receiving nationwide coverage when one of the worst serial killers

of all time, Ted Bundy, confessed to being responsible for her murder only days before

his execution in January of 1989.

His confession seemed to be a pretty believable one, but since Lynette's body has never

been found, her case is not officially considered to be closed.
