Godrich, Ontario.

After leaving her school, 16-year-old Misty Murray fails to return home and is subsequently

reported missing.

Even though there are numerous eye witness sighting some Misty in the days following

her disappearance, police focus their attention on her adoptive father, Steve Murray.

Over three months later, Steve is arrested for Misty's murder and is accused of dumping

her body in Lake Huron.

As there is virtually no evidence against Steve, he winds up being acquitted when he goes

on trial and Misty continues to remain a missing person.

For that, the trail went cold.

disappearance of Misty Murray.

It's been a while since we've covered a Canadian case on The Trail Went Cold and I'm

sure some of you may have performed a double take when you saw the title of this episode

because as you're probably aware, the disappearance of more of Murray might be the most famous

missing persons case of the modern era.
