1:20.0	I'm your host, Robin Warder, and today we're going to explore a story which seems like something
1:24.9	straight out of a horror movie, the 1950 murder of Jeanette Christman. Since we are now in
1:30.9	October, our last few episodes of the month are going to feature cases which either occurred on
1:36.0	Halloween or have some sort of creepy Halloween slant to them. You might be familiar with the
1:41.6	urban legend known as the babysitter and the man upstairs. It involves a teenage babysitter who
1:47.4	is looking after some children whom she has just put to bed when she receives a series of creepy
1:52.5	anonymous phone calls from a man who keeps telling her to check the children. When the babysitter
1:58.2	contacts the police and asks them to trace the call, they soon tell her that the call is coming
2:03.5	from inside the house, and it turns out this man was calling from an upstairs phone after he
2:09.2	murdered the children. This scenario, or a variation on it, has been featured in a number of horror
2:15.3	films, most famously in the 1979 thriller When A Stranger Calls, which features a lengthy opening
2:22.0	sequence where a babysitter receives a number of threatening calls from a psycho who has murdered
2:27.2	the children she was watching over while they were sleeping upstairs. While the babysitter and the
