34-year-old Sherry Holland leaves her vacation home in Florida in order to drive back to

a residence in Atlanta but never arrives. Eight days later, Sherry's abandoned vehicle

is discovered on Interstate 75 with a nail in one of the tires and her two dogs are found

in a field a few miles away. An investigation into Sherry's background

uncovers a lot of surprising secrets, including a job operating in S-Squirt Service, an alleged

blackmailing scheme, and an affair with a married man, but it fails to turn up any answers

about what actually happened to her. After that, the trail went cold.

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest episode of The Trail Went Cold. I'm your host

Robin Warder and today we're going to be covering an odd missing persons case, the

1996 disappearance of Sherry Holland. This is an unusual story about a woman who vanished

after leaving on a lengthy road trip from Florida to Georgia and her abandoned vehicle

was discovered only about half hour so from her destination. What's even stranger

is that Sherry's two dogs accompanied her on her trip, but were soon found a few

miles away, though I should probably warn you ahead of time that one of them was fatally

struck by a vehicle after wandering out into traffic. The circumstances of Sherry's

disappearance are strange enough, but what also turned out there was a lot of intrigue

in her personal life as she had spent the last couple of years running in S-Squirt Service

and according to her business partner, Sherry had potentially put her life in danger by

blackmailing some of her clients. If that wasn't enough, Sherry had also been carrying
