What became of the dream of dragons was a grievous tragedy born in a moment of joy.

In the fateful year 259 AC, the king summoned many of those closest to him to Somerhal,

his favorite castle.

There to celebrate the impending birth of his first great-grandchild, a boy named Rhaegar,

to his grandson Eris and granddaughter Rhaella, the children of Prince Jheris.

The tragedy of Somerhal was a spectacular temp by Aegon the Fifth to Hatch Dragon Hicks,

and it failed spectacularly.

Killing most to all of the participants, plus at least some, probably most of, the witnesses.

Those mentioned by name there were Eris, Rhaella, Jheris, and Little Rhaegar,

who may have been born during the tragedy itself, all survived.

As did the unnamed Shara, who was sister-wife to Jheris, and at least a few others.

But King Aegon the Fifth, probably his queen Beth of Blackwood, and definitely Lord Commander

Duncan Atal, and likely more if not all of the Kingsguard, plus other members of the Royal

Court, Harris, to end the conflictration.
