There are a few crime scenes more chilling than the one the police walked into around

one in the morning on December 9th, 2022.

Only hours earlier, detectives in Silver Spring, Maryland, had identified the gunman

the enclave apartments, breached his unit, and arrested 31-year-old Tori Damien Moore as he lay on a

bare mattress. Then an officer pulled back a blanket on the

bedroom floor and found the decomposing body of Moore's 26-year-old girlfriend, Denise Middleton,

eight and a half months pregnant with a son she planned to name Ezekiel. She had been dead

for nearly two months. Said Taylor Middleton, the victim's cousin,

we didn't lose her.

We were robbed of her.
