If you had turned to 1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter, we began a few weeks ago talking about the things of the spirit.

And we'll build on what we've already covered. First

Corinthians 12 and verse 1 and we'll begin I'll read this in the Young's literal

translation. It doesn't read very smoothly and easily but it's very accurate.

That's why I'm doing it and the very first verse is one reason I'm using this translation is because in the King

James and other translations it says concerning spiritual gifts.

And that's not accurate.

This chapter is talking about more than gifts.

It talks about ministries and operations

and manifestations. And it's not just trying to be technical. It's a big key to understanding

the chapter. And another thing is that a number of modern translations just absolutely get this chapter wrong.

Their theology comes glaring through.

And because they haven't experienced some of the things that this chapter is talking about,

they change it and try to put it in terms that they understand.

Well, that's not a translation.

That's a paraphrase.
