Some of the likely starters for the 2023 Pittsburgh Steelers took the field yesterday to compete,

but they weren't wearing pads and helmets.

Instead, they sported baseball caps and gloves for the third annual Three Rivers Celebrity Softball

game, hosted by former NFL Tight End, Doran Dickerson, who currently serves as co-host of the Fan Morning Show on 93.7.

Proceeds once again benefited the Hayward House and the Cameron Hayward Foundation.

The event raised over $50,000 last year.

Team Berg and Team World faced off at the home of the Washington Wild Things

and included Captain Cam Hayward and fellow Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett,

Tight N Pat Friarmouth, tight end Connor Hayward, Lineback. quarterback Kenny Pickett, Tite N. Pat Freermuth, Tite N.

Connor Hayward, linebacker Alex Highsmith, as well as Carolina Panthers running back

Miles Sanders and former players Dickerson and linebacker Vince Williams.

Team World included Retire Steelers defensive tackle Tyson Alo-Alu.

It comes as no surprise that professional athletes excel in other sports.

NFL players have been known to compete at a high level in the basketball courts and golf courses.

And cross training has proven to benefit athletes at all levels.

But the take-home from yesterday's game for me was that Kenny Pickett continues to impress.

He swatted two home runs in the game,

helping his team come from behind to a 16-6 victory.

He secured his MVP award while helping his team also

win the post-game home run derby, 10-7, adding four homers and
