Welcome to the terrible take, a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind.

I'm Alex Kizora. We don't get much in the way of Steelers news this time of year,

but a nugget dropped Tuesday.

Yesterday, Yahoo's sports reporter Drury Epstein

broke the news the Dallas Cowboys were hiring away Steelers football

analyst Will Britt. Britt had only been with Pittsburgh for about two years and he replaced Jay Whitmire who left last second for the New York Jets.

It's a trend of Pittsburgh losing their analytics guys to other teams.

In addition to Britt and Whitmire, in 2019,

Karim Kaysam left for a job at Duolingo, the Language Learning Company.

He got back into sports with stints in the M. O.B.

And NFL, but never with Pittsburgh.

Under Omar Khan, it seems like the Steelers are placing a higher importance on analytics.

That much was mentioned by ex-Steeler Scout Mark Corsick.

So I don't know that if in this instance losing Brit is because Pittsburgh just does not put much stock into the data.

Maybe this, and I'm speculating is a salary issue or maybe something else, Dallas is closer to

home to Brit, I'm really not sure.

I just know the Steelers have had an ongoing trend of losing these guys to other teams

and jobs.

They have not been able to retain this kind of talent.

My guess is Brit will be replaced before the season begins.

His spot will likely be filled.

You just wonder how long the next person will be there before finding a better opportunity somewhere else.
