I'm Alex Kazora. Treat today's episode as less of a take and more of a stat of the weird off-season addition.

I love scrolling through Pro Football reference just to poke around and see what catches my eye. Today it was

the Steelers point differential, points scored, minus points allowed. And not just for

2022, but over the last two seasons Pittsburgh has finished in the red

Minus 55 in 2021 meaning the team allowed 55 more points than they scored and

minus 38 in 2022 not good numbers obviously even if Pittsburgh somehow finished

three games over 500 during that span. It's the first time Pittsburgh has been negative

and consecutive years since 1998 and 1999 and in 99 they were only minus 3. The Steelers have not been comfortably in the red and back-to-back years since 1988 and 1989 seasons that featured some of the team's

worst losses in history, including a 51 blowout defeat to the Cleveland Browns in

89.

Like 2022, Pittsburgh managed to finish that season with a winning record.

So what does it mean?

Not much overall.

Last season is last season.

But I'll say this.

Pittsburgh has not gone three straight seasons with a negative point differential since they did so
