Welcome to The Terrible Take, a daily segment telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind.

Caleb Johnson and Roman Wilson, the Steelers' last

two third-round picks, have not had the 2025 campaigns they anticipated. Both spent last

week as healthy scratches. But with the prospects of Pittsburgh playing meaningless football these

final two weeks and D. and DK Metcalf's

suspension opening up a receiver spot, these two could end the regular season on far more

positive notes. If Pittsburgh has nothing to play for against Cleveland or Baltimore, Johnson

should get plenty of burn. Jalen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell have shouldered the load all season and could use some

time off, especially with Warren a little beat up right now. Johnson should see his most expansive

role as a runner and get much needed work as a receiver and blocker two areas he must grow in.

Wilson can dress and play again. His tape before being sat was promising.

He was getting open before being squeezed out by Pittsburgh's veteran receiver additions.

In his second year, he needs some place heading into the offseason

to show why he should remain in the mix when Pittsburgh evaluates the future of the position.

On paper, these games might not mean much to Pittsburgh that

foreseed could be set in stone, but it will mean the world to the backups getting their chance,
