0:10.8	Sometimes there's moments in life where we feel pressure to show up or prove ourselves when we know in our heart that it's not the right time.
0:19.6	And so there can be a tension between obedience to God
0:22.8	and then expectations from other people.
0:27.8	I know even in our own lives recently,
0:30.5	we had to have a conversation with one of our daughters
0:32.6	because the Lord was calling her into full-time missions
0:36.0	despite the fact that she had a full
0:39.0	scholarship to college. And so she felt that tension because there was an expectation from us,
0:46.7	even as her family, that she was going to use that full scholarship. And yet she had to be
0:52.5	obedient to what it was that the Lord was telling her.
0:56.0	And of course, once she told us, we were, of course, fully supportive.
1:01.6	But those moments happen.
1:04.2	And in John chapter 7, we find that Jesus is actually in that kind of situation.
1:12.0	The brothers that he has are mocking him.
1:15.6	The religious leaders are literally plotting against him to kill him.
1:20.1	The crowd is full of divided opinions.
1:24.5	And Jesus, instead of shrinking back,
1:27.2	he steps into this moment that is filled with tension
1:31.3	to reveal a larger truth.
1:35.1	And so today is the first of three episodes as we walk through John chapter 7 together.
