We're in a fight right now for the future of Western civilization and for the preservation

of free speech.

And I view all of my commentary work and all of my interests in the American political

system through that lens.

CNN political analyst Scott Jennings talking about his presentation at this year's

issues, et cetera, making the case conference. We have to preserve Western civilization, we have to preserve free speech, and I think most

issues and most politics comes down to those two fundamental issues.

I think it's good for audiences to have their bubbles popped.

I think it's all too easy in American political culture right now to get yourself in a silo or in a bubble where

only the information that you want to hear that confirms your priors is what you see.

And I think it's detrimental to the average citizen to be stuck in a silo or a bubble like that.

For the Christian, it's a little bit of a tightrope.

We are commanded by Scripture to obey civil authorities.

We're told that they are instituted by God, and to disobey them is at least in some sense

to disobey the God who instituted them. And yet we are to submit to

these authorities. That doesn't mean that we always have to obey everything they say. In fact,

we are to obey God rather than men. And even when we are obeying God rather than men, we are

still able to submit to civil authorities. So how does that work and how do we know when to obey
