But things are happening in the desert, over the weekend all the dudes got together.

We had pitchers and catchers for about a week. Then all the position players report they're starting

to have practices and bullpins and live BP and on the 20th, I believe Friday is when the Cactus

league season begins against their surprise bunkmates, the Royals.

And there's not just a ton of like huge news going on, which is great.

That means people are staying healthy.

I mean, obviously we had the bad news about Sebastian Walcott last week, having hurt his elbow and needing a repair surgery that could cost them all of 2026.

I guess over the weekend, the most notable thing was Brandon Nimmo, who is going to be

hitting lead off quite a bit this season.

Skip Schumacher did confirm that, yes, he will be playing right field primarily this year,

which he hasn't played that position in five years.

He doesn't have a big arm.

In fact, out of the, over the thousand games, he's played in his career, only 93 have come in right field. But hopefully Evan Carter, Wyatt Langford can manned center, and we'll see what happens in left, including a minor league deal that was signed over the weekend in Mark Kana, who's had a pretty nice big league career, sort of a spare part, bench guy. He's had a few good years of some pop. But at the age of 37, just kept himself ready over the offseason. So a real chance is a right-handed bat to maybe step in and make this roster this year. I feel like he was a big Ranger killer, too. With the A's, yeah. It's a name that I fondly remember from years past. He had one big

year in 2019 when he hit 26 home runs. And other than that, you know, kind of average

production. That was his only season over 20 home runs. He was limited last year, only 125 at

bats. And it's, yeah, it's a flyer. Like, it's another guy you hope you don't have to use unless

he just absolutely breaks out this spring. It's a first baseman. You can use that. Well, they need
