Summary

Richard Rohr, in conversation with Paul Swanson and Brie Stoner, discusses the final layer of the Cosmic Egg, The Story. Richard describes “the story” as the great patterns that are always true. We pull on the threads of love that are active when engaged in “the story”, play with metaphors that examine a new way of seeing the Cosmic Egg, the relationship between chaos and order, and the Universal Christ as the key to holding Cosmic Egg together. Today, we talked about the story, but Paul, one of the things that I found so precious, tender,

0:35.0

and moving is that you and I both had experiences this week that left us in this very tender-hearted, vulnerable place.

0:43.8

And maybe because of that, we were able to have a conversation about the story that was through the lens of love.

0:51.1

It wasn't up here in the mind.

0:53.1

We weren't talking at it like a map maker. We were talking about it from the heart.

0:57.7

And it was so special to be able to be in that space together.

1:02.5

Amen. It almost feels like there's potential that listeners could hear our beating hearts through this episode

1:08.9

because we were both holding kind of our own spaces of tenderness and allowing that to be a place that we can sit with

1:18.8

and also do this kind of work from a place of tenderness and vulnerability.

1:24.6

And even Richard was dropping into that heart-centered space with us.

1:29.0

And you said something beautiful. What was it that you just said?

1:31.5

You said it was like the way he was teaching.

1:33.7

Yeah, yeah. I was thinking as like he was speaking from this place of his mystical heart

1:38.2

and it was like the right posture was allowing the point through of right teaching.

1:43.5

And I think that that really resonates as we dive into the depths of what we've been calling the story

1:49.6

or the patterns that we see happening everywhere.

1:52.3

You know, we talked about black elk and Einstein and art and creativity and becoming and process theology.
