Summary

For a period of time in the late 1980s, Cape Breton’s Chickie Macphee became one of his island’s most famous and most beloved residents. His notoriety didn’t begin with any great feat, show of skill, or significant act of generosity. Chickie Macphee was just a regular Cape Bretoner with a bit of a drinking problem and a love for Karaoke. In this episode, we will explore his unique legacy. Our guest, Chickie Macphee's brother Rich MacPhee, will tell us how Chickie ended up famous for getting drunk and singing ‘wild thing’ on the community TV channel.
