Chapter 30. A Compound Letter

In the previous chapters, all the children were pitching in harvesting apples for October,

except to Paulie Peter, and the story girl told the tale of Odin and the rainbow breach.

Later on, they heard news that Peter was very ill with measles and might not make it through.

Beside themselves with grief, the children repented for their past misgivings against Peter

and prayed that he would recover.

And a few days later, they happily heard that he would.
