In the previous chapters, after a long and dreadful wait for two o'clock on a Sunday afternoon,

the children had discovered that it was in fact not the end of the world.

Some time later, when August had passed and autumn was coming on, the Story Girl had an idea to get everyone to take up journals and write all of their dreams in them, so that they might later describe them to each other.
