Big weekend of football, both pro and college.

But let's begin with college, where the Big Ten is going to finally shake itself out.

Very interestingly over the course of the next two weeks is Ohio Ohio State ranked number four in the college football playoff rankings.

First takes on Michigan State at home this weekend, and then takes on Michigan up in

Ann Arbor, the number seven and number six teams.

By the time all this is done, Ohio State will either prove beyond the shadow of a doubt

that they belong or they won't be in the playoff.

But meanwhile, more interesting story is brewing right here in my backyard at Michigan State

where the Spartan Nation and the school itself are about to offer Mel Tucker,

who has not been there two years yet, a 10-year,

$95 million contract, the richest contract going in college football right now, making

him only the second highest paid coach in the country behind only a guy he used to work for, Nick Saban, who only leads him in

national championships seven to zero, only leads him in a conference title, something like

13 to zero. And yet he's going to be literally on his heels for money. And what makes it really

interesting guys is that the money is largely coming from two rich alumni who are directing the money

...
