Welcome to the Monday edition, the Postmasters Edition of the Sports Reporters' podcast.

And it's funny, one of the cliches of sports is the Masters always starts at the 10th

tea on Sunday.

And sometimes that just turns out to be total

hoo-ha, but it was not yesterday. As we watch, and again, I will say this straight up to start,

I think Hideki Matsiyama winning a master's, becoming the first person from his country to do that,

is one of the great golf stories of all time. And as a friend of mine in the golf business

said to me yesterday, starting on the first take, he will be carrying an entire country on his

back. So whatever his lead was, you have to factor that in. And everything was going along,

pretty fine. You know, there was the early stumble and guys i have to tell you i have two

witnesses to this my two of my sons were watching and on 15 you know how afraid everybody is if they

go for that green and two to dunk it into the water and i said to Alex and Zach he's going to hit

it over the green and into the water and And to make sure he doesn't do that.

And it's exactly what happened.

He opened the door and then poor Xander Shafley,

hit maybe the worst shot I have ever seen on number 16,

with the exception of Trevor Inumman, the year he won when he beat Tiger,

dunking it in the water.

And that was enough to carry Matsiyama to the finish line.
