The question today is from Alexis, from Charlotte, North Carolina. She says, my question has to do with

resentment toward my mother. Two years ago, I lent my mom about $40,000 to start a real estate venture

that ultimately failed. I'm now stuck with paying large amounts of credit card bills,

and I am in an enormous amount of debt. She gives me a little bit of money here and there,

but I'm still paying off 90% of the debt in monthly installments. This has hurt me financially and worse.

It has strained my relationship with my mom.

Whenever I see her, I can't help but think how my life would be different if I had never

lent her the money.

I want to heal our relationship because I know the energy I hold towards my mother has only made matters worse.

What do you suggest?

Alexis, what I suggest is this.

First of let me give you a little understanding of how the law of the universe operates.

You lent your mother $40,000 approximately.

She had a failed real estate venture,

and she's paying you a little bit every single month, but not enough

in terms of the $40,000 that you lend her.

You're in debt because of that. What must have to happen, you have to forgive her,

and you have to forgive yourself.
