We're right now discussing who we are in Christ, as outlined by the Apostle Paul,

and we'll be in Ephesians chapter 2 today.

I love this part of the Bible, because Paul in Ephesians pours himself out.

There is emotion in what he writes, but there's also intellect, the greatest intellect

in the history of Western civilization. And remember, Paul wrote Ephesians, Philippians,

Colossians, and Philemon while he was in prison, in a Roman prison, sometimes chained to a Roman guard.

Now, if you can imagine doing your best work while chained to a Roman guard, I mean, that's

astounding to me.

In a dank place, probably just reeked to high heaven, uncomfortable, miserable conditions.

And Paul wrote Ephesians in that kind of a setting.

It's beyond belief, practically.

Last week we had concluded in the closing verses of Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1, 15 through 23.

He talks about starting in verse, to review a little bit,

he says, what's the exceeding greatness of his power to usward? Who believe, according to the

working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead,

set him at his own right hand in heavenly places, far above all, principality, power, might

dominion, every name that is named not only in this world, but also in that which is to come

and hath put all things under his feet, gave him to be the head over all things to the church.
