break for a couple of days, so it's me, Alex Kirkland, with Sid Lowe. Hello, Sid.

How did you just say well-earned?

The boy works very hard. He does a terrific job on Heliga TV and this podcast. I think

we all deserve a break sometimes.

Well, I think we will break when we die until then.

Yes. I mean, today is a Wednesday. It's a bank holiday here in Madrid. In fact, it's

a mega-pointy because today is a bank holiday and Wednesday is a bank holiday. That means

lots of people here have taken a whopping five days off work. Not you and I, Sid.

No. In fact, bank holidays make it worse for us to be perfectly honest, don't they?

We are still here deep in the content minds, chipping away at the cul face of Spanish football.

Fortunately, we've got a pretty fantastic matchday 16 to talk about, which we'll keep us going.

I will run us through the results. Matchday 16 kicked off on Friday night with a huge

result at the bottom of the table. Grenada bit in Alivez 2-1. Thanks to Santiago Arias is

86-minute winner, which took Grenada above Alivez in the fight to escape relegation.

That was followed by genuinely a super Saturday in which all of the best teams in La Liga

accept Raya really were in action. It started off in the early game with Sevilla beating

Villarreal 1-0. Thanks to Lucas and Campos's early header. That was followed by a pretty

incredible result at Camp Nou. That game ended in a 1-0 win for Real Betis against Barcelona.

Thanks to Juan Luis with his eighth lead goal of the season. A bit of a shock after that

Mallorca coming back from a goal down to beat Athletico Madrid 2-1 at home. Things were looking

fine, really, for Athletico when Mateus Cunia puts them ahead in his first start for the club,
