playoff era with UCF and teams like Temple and Cincinnati last year.

They've always kind of hit a ceiling in the rankings.

And now you wonder at this point are the leaders just kind of clearly just saying,'re going to separate basically put the haves over here the have nots over here

Gonna go form our own our own world and our own governing body

We're gonna make this more realistic and more current more up-to-date model of big-time college football

That was ESPN's Kirk Herb Street, reacting to the latest bomb to hit the splintering world

of college football, the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, declaring that

they will be ditching the Big 12 for the big bad Southeastern conference.

So today, we summon Spencer Hall, the poet laureate of the SEC,

to explain how all of this is a matter of life and death for not just the Big 12, but also the

NCAA itself.
