Summary

On this week’s episode we will take a look back to 19-45 when a mysterious fire broke out on Christmas Eve at the Sodder family home. One of my main sources for this story comes from an article written in the New York Post from 1975, detailing the strange circumstances surrounding this fire. The kids had received their presents earlier in the evening so they were excited and wanted to play with their toys.  The parents went to bed at 10:30 p.m. Jennie began to smell smoke around 1:30 am and she realized it was filling the room. The house was on fire. Stricken with fear all the Sodder’s could do was watch their house burn to the ground.  There was no sign of the five children; they were not outside and efforts to spot them through the windows of the blazing house failed. Authorities decided that the five children perished in the blaze. Yet no remains, no bones, no trace of human tissue, were found in the ruins... The case remains unsolved... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
