In 1984

69-year-old Agnes Vafrovich lived alone

She'd gotten divorced 15 years earlier

She had two children, a daughter and a son

They were grown and moved away to start their own families

That spring a man broke into Agnes's home and tending to rape and rob her

Regardless of the man's intentions

Agnes died during the attack

She literally had a broken heart
