And Anne Frank's cousin on one of the 20th century's most famous diarists.

I didn't know the deep thoughts that Annie put in her diary. But, she was a playful young girl,

but these wonderful thoughts absolutely new.

That's all to come.

But we're going to devote the first half of the podcast to the six-day war between Israel and its Arab neighbors.

The conflict which took place 50 years ago this month reshaped the Middle East.

Jordan, Egypt and Syria lost control of the West Bank,

the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula and the Golan Heights.

But perhaps the Israeli's most symbolic victory came on the third day of the war in Jerusalem,

a city revered equally by Jews, Muslims and Christians.
