Tonight, on the show, I speak with a vanistradner of the foundation for the defensive democracies

about the summary of the Africa summit held in Moscow, hosted by Putin.

And what is to be done with the bad information being lavished upon Africa, apparently Putin's

complaint, is that the British are imperialists and colonialists, and he's doing what he can

to fend off the colonial abuse of Africa.

It's not only out of time, it's a distorted version of history, but in any event it serves

Putin well to connect with the African leaders, the ones who came this year, it was only

20 of 54 states who showed up much less than last year, the first Africa summit.

The effort here is to reach it out to the global south, which is stood apart from the Ukraine

war, not participating in sanctions, and not indicating which side of the other is best.

But right now, the food weapon which Russia is using in the breakup of the grain deal certainly

presses on Africa, and Putin made promises to certain of the states that showed up.

It's not at all certain that he'll follow through on promises.

So, because Ivana knows Serbia very well, she is Serbian.

We talk of a man named Vulin, who is the state security chief, Alexander Vulin, who has

been sanctioned now by the U.S. for money laundering and other crimes.

Most importantly, Vulin is in charge of undermining the credibility of NATO and the United States

of the West.

In the Western Balkans, you will recall that Serbia is on knife's edge here, it's

neither for Russia nor for NATO, goes back and forth, although it's chiefly an interlocutor.

For Russia, this is the remains of the Yugoslav Balkan wars of the late 20th century, and it's

no less frightening and it's no less non-transparent now than it was then.
