And this particular film analysis is years in the making.

Years. This was actually the third book I wrote back in 2014 was Kubrick's code analyzing four of Kubrick's films.

2001, a space odyssey, the Shining, a clockwork orange,

and eyes wide shut.

Almost forgot the fourth one, the most important one, eyes wide shut.

And The Shining is a film that somehow, over the years,

I've never done a full film analysis.

So I'm more than excited to begin this journey with you.

It's going to be a three-parter, okay? Today, we begin the deep dive with part one. We'll explore the cast members, like Jack Nicholson. We'll do a little deeper dive into Jack Nicholson. We'll talk about the movie poster. We'll talk about like the sort of making of the film type behind the scene stuff for the first maybe half of this episode.
