for those of you who have forgotten over the past week, we have now four murders in Austin, Texas in the late 1800s, starting in December of 1884, a Black cook named Molly Smith was sexually assaulted, it looks like, and murdered

with an axe and stabbed with a sharp object.

We have Eliza Shelley about five months after that that who was a black cook in her 30s.
